Volunteers from Exeter CND have run a Peace Shop in Exeter city centre since 1980. It has had several different homes in the heart of the "West Quarter" of the city over the years, but has been at its current address since 1992. The Peace Shop is located at 31 New Bridge Street, at the bottom end of Fore Street in Exeter (Devon, South West England, UK) click here to go to a map
We endeavour to be open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, but as we are entirely reliant on volunters, sometimes you may find the door shut (so do call ahead if you're making a special journey on 01392 431447)...
>> The Peace Shop re-opened on Tues 13th April 2021 after the COVID-19 national lockdown in the UK <<
If you would like to volunteer to work a 3-hour shift in the Peace Shop, please get in touch as we are always looking for more volunteers to help keep the shop open. Click here to send an email.
We sell a wide range of CND merchandise: t-shirts, mugs, postcards, and greetings cards; an extensive assortment of badges; unusual, traditional and educational toys, Palestinian Olive Oil, incense and other Fairtrade goods. We also have a wide selection of literature available, including CND's current campaigning materials, petitions to sign, and leaflets from various other anti-war, anti-nuclear and pro-peace organisations.
We also sell White Poppies on behalf of the Peace Pledge Union (click here to visit their website and find out more). White Poppies symbolise the belief that there are better ways to resolve conflicts than by killing strangers, and stand for the remembrance of all the victims of war, past and present.
